Xpress Showcase 2024

The showcase event in August 2024 marked the program's second major milestone. It was the culmination of the Mparntwe First Nations musician’s journey over a year of working closely with their mentors. The event shared the songs, stories and messages of the musicians as they work towards achieving their musical aspirations and building a life centred around their music.

Working alongside the Alice Springs well-loved event Red Dirt Poetry Festival, the Xpress team debuted their music to the community at the festival’s finale feature show on the Alice Spring mainstage theatre at the Araluen Arts Centre.

Kicking off, the Xpress segment saw a panel discussion with the Artists and Mentors sharing what it takes to get where they are. Audiences bore witness to the behind-the-scenes process of creating compelling music, from catchy hooks and insightful lyrics to captivating vocals and production.

Everyone was invited to share the experience of the raw power and emotion of music deeply connected to the Mparntwe First Nations experience.
