In 2025 Opera Australia (OA) came to town to present an opera. While here they collaborated with two First Nations Artists from the Xpress program.
The OA ‘s Engagement, Learning and Participation Program leader Nate Gilkes, along with the conductor, singers and musicians immersed themselves in a one-day creative exploration of original songs from the two Xpress Artists to elevate the songs beyond the digital music genre.
This proved to be a very rewarding and inspiring process for all involved.
